<p>The invention relates to an electrical appliance for the preparation of infusions, for instance, a coffee maker, which is provided with a water reservoir (2) which can hold water and which comprises a heating element (10) with which the water can be heated and a pot (24) for containing the infusion and which can be placed under the water reservoir, the bottom of the water reservoir being provided with a valve (31) which opens when the water is heated to boiling temperature. According to the invention the water reservoir (2) is a separate unit which can be removed from the top of the appliance for the preparation of infusions, and replaced again. In a particularly advantageous embodiment the removable water jug (2) can be used as a water boiler. When the water jug is used as a water boiler, the closing of a valve (31) in the bottom prevents hot water from flowing out from the bottom.</p> |
