Method of laying down roving end on predetermined position of roving bobbin

The end of a roving is placed in a predetermined position on a bobbin (20) on a roving frame when it has reached a predetermined length. The theoretical bobbin build is determined with the help of a reference bobbin and is then used to build the other bobbins. A device for the above method is also claimed. The drives (3,5,7,8) of the various machine sections are controlled from a central controller (9). The required build pattern is determined on a test bobbin and the process is then controlled by altering the reversal points of the traverse (6) while using the same taper angles on the bobbin.
