A multipurpose inversion device for; (a) treatment of back trouble by means of inversion traction, (b) massage therapy and/or (c) exercise. The multipurpose device includes additional braces for withstanding increased stresses induced, e.g. by a masseuse or due to exercised performed thereon. The multipurpose device has various attachments or configurations, including an abdominal exercise attachment, a massage unit, a heating unit and slidable reclining board for supporting a user. The slidable reclining board is supported by a frame connected to a foldable stand along a horizontal axis. The reclining board is arranged to be movable in its longitudinal direction relative to the frame, preferably in such a way that the reclining board is slidable on the frame, on wheels.
