The invention relates to a circular blade (100, 100') for cutting foods such as meat products, cheese and similar sliced goods, comprising a steel, disk-shaped blade body (1) which is configured so that it can turn around an axis (A), said axis being perpendicular to the disk plane. The outer rim of said blade body is feather-edged (8) for cutting. The blade body (1) is coated with a hard material in an annular area (7) on the outer edge, in at least the area of a flat surface which is subject to wear. Said coating (10) comprises a first coating (13) of a hard material and at least one other coating of a hard material (15) applied on top of said first coating, the surface profile of the second coating (15) being smoother than that of the first coating (13). |
