PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor which is simple, costs low, and has high detection accuracy by storing a needle made of ferromagnetic material in a container, the base of which is a curved surface, disposing an exciting coil on the outer peripheral surface intersecting perpendicularly the vertical axis of the container, and arranging a detection coil on the outer peripheral surface containing the vertical axis. SOLUTION: In the steady state, a needle 2 is placed on the center line of a first detection coil 5, so that the magnetic flux of an exciting coil 4 will not interlink with first and second detection coils 5, 6 not to generate induced voltage. When an inclination sensor is inclined at an angle ofθwithin the X-Y axis, a needle 2 is rolled by its dead load and braked on a position on Y-axis passing a central point 0 by a damper oil 3 to be moved. The magnetic flux of the exciting coil 4 is bent in the direction of passing the needle 2 to interlink with the first detection coil 5, so that induced voltage appears between the output terminals 5a, 5b. The vertical axis V of the inclination sensor is inclined at an angle ofϕwithin the Y-Z axis plane, induced voltage is caused to appear between output terminals 6a, 6b of the second detection coil 6 by the movement of the needle 2. The inclination anglesθ,ϕare calculated from two induced voltages to calculated the direction and angle of inclination of the sensor.
