摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the extent of explosion, when a battery is thrown into fire by making a member which is indirectly related to the operation of a safety mechanism, among the movable members forming the safety mechanism of the battery, out of a material which is fluidized at a specific temperature after the operation of a degassing mechanism. SOLUTION: An exhaust hole 16a is formed on an upper plate, and a hole 16b is formed on a lower plate. The exhaust hole 16a and the hole 16b are free from the ventilation in a normal condition of a battery. When an internal pressure of the battery becomes more than a specific value, the ventilation is started by the following action. That is, a safety valve 10b is reversed while being projected upwards to be deformed, when the internal pressure of the battery becomes more than the specific value. As a result, a spring disc 10a pushes up a switch supporting part 15. When the switch-supporting part 15 is moved upwards, a switch 8 is separated from a contact ring 12, the electric connection is cut, and the flow of the electric current is stopped by an insulating plate 13. When the internal pressure of the battery is increased further, the safety valve 10b is broken, to discharge the gas generated in the battery to the outside of the battery.
