PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To send a signal with small delay and at a low bit rate by quantizing an A/D converter of a floating point type. SOLUTION: The A/D converter of a floating point type 101 quantizes an inputted analog audio signal by a floating point format. A transmitting line 102 transmits the quantized signal. The D/A converter of a floating point type 103 converts the signal quantized by the floating point format to an analog audio signal. Namely, the converter 101 is provided in stead of a conventional A/D converter of a fixed point type to quantize by the converter 101 to send a signal at a bit rate lower than that in the case of using the conventional A/D converter of a fixed point type without causing delay. Thereby an excellent audio signal encoder capable of sending a signal with small delay and at a low bit rate is obtained. |
