PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transformer which realizes a low iron loss in a low-frequency range and an excellent heat resistance property, by using a soft magnetic alloy of a special composition for a thin band of a magnetic core. SOLUTION: A transformer is constituted mainly by a pair of left and right magnetic cores 1, and a conductor 2 wound around the magnetic cores 1, 1. A thin band of the magnetic core 1 is constituted by a soft magnetic alloy thin band having a composition of Fe90 Zr7 B2 Cu1 , and an insulating layer of MgO or the like formed on one surface of the soft magnetic alloy thin band. As this soft magnetic alloy, an alloy expressed by (Fe1-a Coa )b Bx Ty T'z is used (where T is one type or two or more types of elements selected from Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Mo and W, and including either one or both of Zr and Hf, and T' is one type or two or more types of elements selected from Cu, Ag, Au, Ni, Pd, and Pt. Also, a <=0.05, b <=92 at.%, x=0.5 to 16 at.%, y=4 to 10 at.%, and z=4.5 at.% or less). |
