PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate a ground horizontal resistance easily and accurately for an underground structure with a deformed cross section. SOLUTION: First, the sectional shape and the aspect ratio of an underground structure to be evaluated are specified (step 101). Then, a correction coefficientαcorresponding to the sectional shape and the aspect ratio is specified (step 102). The correction coefficientαis predetermined for each sectional shape and aspect ratio of the underground structure as the ratio of the ground horizontal resistance of the underground structure with a standard section, and is recorded in the form of, for example, a figure and an expression. Then, a ground horizontal resistance K of the underground structure to be evaluated is evaluated as K=α.K0 (step 103).
