<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method for a cache memory in a multi-processing system. SOLUTION: In the method, the cache memory 15 divided into an inspection area 400 for inspecting the cache memory and a code area 410 for storing an inspection program. Then the inspection program stored in a shared memory is allowed to correspond to the inspection program area in the cache memory and the inspection program stored in the shared memory is read out. Then the inspection program is stored in the code area of the cache memory and executed. Since the inspection area 400 and the code area 410 are distinguished, only the area 400 can be concentrically inspected. Since all bus cycles between the cache memory and the shared memory are successively and synchronously generated by all processor modules participated in the inspection, the reliability of the inspection program can be improved.</p> |
