PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make whether or not a message is viewed on a display by the operator of a personal computer or the like confirmable on the receiving means side (television tuner side) by pressing a confirmation operation button. SOLUTION: A television tuner 2 receives a message from an infrared remote control transmitter 5, and on-screen displays the message through an on-screen display circuit(OSD) 25 on a display 4 of a personal computer 3. The successively transmitted messages are stored in a memory 51. The same message is not stored. When the conformation operation button is pressed, and a message confirmation switch 53 is operated, the on-screen displayed message is deleted, the data are deleted from the memory 51, and the next message is read from the memory 51, and on-screen displayed.
