PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery active material having a capacity higher than that of a graphite material and little cycle deterioration by baking a mixture of a material capable of electrochemically storing and discharging a specific quantity of lithium ions via the heat treatment in a reducing atmosphere and a thermoplastic resin in the nonoxidizing atmosphere. SOLUTION: A material capable of storing and discharging lithium ions of 375 mAh/g or above via heat treatment in a reducing atmosphere and a thermoplastic resin are mixed. An oxide or a chalcogenide is preferred as the material, or Si, Ge, Sn, Pb, Al, Ga, In, Ti, P, As, a transition metal, an oxide, a nitride, a sulfide, or a carbide is used, and the mixing ratio is preferably set so as to obtain a percentage content of about 99-10 wt.% after baking. Pitch or PVC is preferably used for the thermoplastic resin, and small- crystallizing or amorphous carbon is formed by baking. The mixture is preferably baked at 500-2000 deg.C in a nonoxidizing atmosphere to obtain a nonaqueous secondary battery active material. |
