摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the heat generation part due to snubber loss and to improve efficiency and increase capacity, by collectively assembling the snubber power of a converter in that a plurality of power conversion modules where a plurality of self-quenching type elements are connected to a main arm in series are further connected in series, and performing regeneration reasonably. SOLUTION: The snubber energy of main gate turn-off thyristors(GTO) 31-34 that are self-quenching type elements being connected in series is collectively regenerated along with the snubber energy of an auxiliary switch 6U itself, via the auxiliary switch 6U and a regeneration transformer 7U that are energized in synchronization with the main GTOs. The snubber energy of each GTO module is regenerated to DC filter capacitors that are connected in series. The accumulation energy of the snubber capacitors 31C-34C of the main GTOs is regenerated to a power supply via the reactor 34M, the regeneration transformer 7U, and diodes 13U1-12U4 collectively with the accumulation energy of the snubber capacitor 14U along with the ignition of the auxiliary switch 6U being energized in synchronization with the main GTOs 31-34.
