This invention relates to clips. Such clips are frequently used to secure hoses to pipes. The present invention provides a clip (1) comprising a strip (10), a housing (12) mounted on one end of the strip (10), a driving member (18) mounted in the housing (12), in which a distal end (13) of the strip (10) passes through the housing (12) to form a loop. The driving member (18) comprising a substantially flat face abutting the strip (10), the flat face carrying teeth or threads (23) to engage slots or slits (15) in the strip (10). Rotation of the driving member (18) about an axis normal to the flat face causing expansion and contraction of the loop. The driving member (18) being slidable in the housing (12) between a first position in which the threads or teeth (23) engage the slits (15) to a second position in which the threads or teeth (23) engage the slits (15) to a second position in which the threads or teeth (23) are disengaged from the slits (15). Wherein retaining means (32) are provided on a surface of the clip (1) to retain in use the distal end (13) of the strip (10).
