The use of androst-5-ene-3β,17β-diol for the preparation of a medicament useful for the treatment of post-menopausal syndrome, for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis, and inducing a decrease in the fat mass and an increase in the lean body mass, in menopausal and in both sexes in ageing.
