SHEET METAL MEMBER, METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME, AND HEAT RADIATION PLATE

A method of manufacturing a sheet metal member, comprising sintering a green compact in the form of a sheet having thin wall portions and thick wall portions to provide a sintered compact and then repressing the sintered compact, wherein an adjustment is made so that density difference between the thin wall portions and the thick wall portions of the sintered compact is within a range of +/- 1.5 %. Accordingly, improved precision in flatness combined with forming effected by sintering reduces the amount of strain remaining inside the compact and significantly suppresses deformation due to influences of heat, thus making the sheet metal member promising for a heat radiation plate.
