<p>A merchandise display hook (12) having an improved form of pivoting label holder (30). A label support arm (17) extends above a merchandise display arm (13) and has a transversely disposed cross bar (24) secured to an upper surface portion thereof. The cross bar (24) pivotally mounts a label holder (30), optionally with the end extremity of the label support arm (17) serving as an abutment stop to limit rearward pivoting of the label holder (30). The label holder (30) has a U-shaped retaining clip portion (38) with a slot (43) for accommodating the label support arm (17) during movement of the label holder (30) on the cross bar (24). The slot (43) is tapered such that the open end (54) is wider than an intermediate portion (56), thus preventing contact with the label support arm (17) during downward rotation. The tapered slot (43) can be formed by directing a triangular or trapezoidal-shaped tool through the retaining clip portion (38) parallel to the panel of the label holder (30).</p> |
