<p>The system is esp. for the water-supply in an aircraft, having branch pipes with taps from main one through which water is pumped. Inside the union (4) for the branch-pipe (5) is a system with inlet (9) towards the main pipe and outlet (10) towards the branch-pipe, the outlet being connected to a hose (12) passing through the portion of the branch pipe liable to ice up. The system can consist of a pitot tube (8), whose inlet faces against the flow direction in the main pipe. Water can be delivered by a servo pump, driven electrically or by turbine. The tube can be L-shaped. The main pipe can form a ring main, and the tube can be cast integrally with the branch pipe or pressed into it.</p> |
