<p>A blade edge with increased durability and a reduced cut force and a method for manufacturing the same. The blade edge is thickened by depositing a coating or grinding. A thin film having a low coefficient of friction, such as amorphous diamond, is then applied to the edge. An additional layer of a lubricious polymer may then be applied. The resulting blade edge has a significantly reduced cut force over existing razor blades and also has greatly increased durability. <IMAGE></p> |
