Monitoring equipment in an automatic screen printing device

The printer comprises a base (1) which supports a printing plate (2). The base (1) has jacks (6) with piston rods (6') which carry a frame (12) and printing chassis (3). The printing plate (2) has brackets (8) at each side which bear light-emitting (9) and light-detecting units. The light beams are typically 5-8 mm apart and will detect dripping ink or drooping screen. Detection causes the printing process to be interrupted. A CCD camera may be used as an alternative to the light emitting and receiving units.
