The invention relates to an arrangement for automatically adjusting a damper (1) which can be regulated in respect of damping constant and which forms part of a spring mechanism (3) consisting of a gas spring (13) and a damper (1) and mounted in an underframe of a chair (5) which is preferably mounted in a vehicle. This is achieved by connecting the adjustment device (7) and the damper (1), allowing the pressure in a gas spring (13) to act on the adjustment device (7) which can assume at least two different basic positions which give the damper (1) correspondingly different damping constants. These different basic positions can correspond, for example, to the vehicle speed over and below 15 km/h. The effect of the pressure in the gas spring (13) creates a fine adjustment with respect to the driver's weight about the basic positions. |
