PRODUCTION OF PREPARATION FOR EXTERNAL USE FOR SKIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to obtain a preparation for external use for skin having an excellent humectant effect and skin roughening preventive effect by extracting bacteria belonging to the genus Sphingomonas with a specific solvent. SOLUTION: This preparation for external use for skin is prepared by extracting bacteria belonging to the genus Sphingomonas with an alcohol or a mixture of alcohol and water after being washed with acetone, separating bacilli from the resultant extract to obtain a sphingoglycolipid-containing composition and then pharmaceutically manufacturing it as it is or by means of mixing with other components. As the extracting solvent, methanol is suitable when an alcohol is independently used, and propanol or butanol is preferable when a mixture of alcohol and water is utilized. This preparation can be prepared as a cosmetic and a medicine directly applicable to skins. When itnprovement for skin roughening and keratin or skin protection is necessitated, it is very effectively usable and shows antiatopic activity too.
