FIELD: metalworking. SUBSTANCE: steel-brass bimetal is manufactured by cold cladding involving codeformation of substrate materials, greasing, cooling of strip plate, rolling to final size, annealing, and etching. Cladding is carried out under conditions resulting in heating strip plate during its deformation to homologous temperature no higher than 50 C. Grease has kinematic viscosity at 100 C at least 20 sq.mm/s, acid number no higher than 0.03, ash content no higher than 0.003, and flash temperature not below 200 C.
