Closure strip for edges of carpet plinth strip

The closure strip (1) is of elastic material and has a U-shaped cross-section with unequal length arms whereby the longer arm (2) adjoins the back of the carpet plinth strip (3) and changes with a right-angle into the base web (5) of the U-strip. The shorter arm (4) is preshaped inclined to the opposite arm with a radius (R) and/or angles so that the distance a of its front edge (6) from the longer arm is substantially less than the thickness of the plinth strip and can be practically zero. The arms (2,4) which are smooth on their insides can be spread out by overcoming the pretension and fitted on the plinth strip whereby the longer arm is additionally fixed by applying a double-sided adhesive assembly tape.
