<p>The invention concerns a novel method for making paper by forming and drying aqueous paper pulp containing cellulose paste and mineral fillers, consisting in incorporating in the parent paste before forming the sheet a gelling system comprising a polymer containing at least a hydroxyl group, and a crosslinking agent in aqueous solution containing a element selected among the group consisting of borate, zirconate, titanate and their mixture.
