The fuel tank has two chambers (11,12) connected via an aperture in the dividing wall. A part (20) of capillary material extends from the floor (102) in one chamber through the aperture to the floor of the other chamber. The capillary material may be a fleece or woven material, or the part may be formed by a hose containing numerous threads of the material. The dividing wall is formed a saddle (102), which is integral with the tank base (101), and the aperture is formed by a bridging section (13) between the tank chambers.
