Double-plate-type pipe slide valve

The valve slides in a housing at right angles to the pipe, and has a bridge-piece (11) inserted in the latter in the open position. Sealing rings (16,17) on the piece are pre-loaded elastically against seats (18,19) in the housing in the open position. The bridge-piece has a tubular portion (15), one at least of whose end faces (20) slides axially in a sealing mounting (21) in relation to one or both of the sealing rings. Pre-loading can be provided by compression springs (22), these typically acting via the tubular portion against the sealing rings. There can be an annular portion (24) with peripheral protrusion (25) coaxial to the tubular one, and which fits in a peripheral groove in the end face of the tubular one.
