Device for purifying air and generating negatively charged ions, comprising: pumping means (3), a liquid tank (1), an air inlet (11), a liquid supply line (5), a spray head (7), liquid-air separation means (21, 22), and an air outlet (24), in which the pumping means (3) are designed for bringing to pressure liquid from the liquid tank (1), in order to distribute said liquid as liquid droplets by way of the liquid supply line (5) and the spray head (7), the device also comprising: at least one liquid jet pipe (9) with an inlet aperture and an outlet aperture (16 and 17 respectively), which is provided in the inlet aperture (16) with the spray head (7), and downstream of the spray head (7) is provided with an air suction aperture (15), which air suction aperture (15) is in open communication with the air inlet (11), the spray head (7) being directed from the inlet aperture to the outlet aperture (16 and 17 respectively).
