PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell-based electric power generation system with high fuel utilization coefficient. SOLUTION: This fuel cell based electric power generation system is composed of a raw fuel supplying apparatus 1, a fuel reforming apparatus 2 to produce a reformed gas containing hydrogen from the raw fuel supplied from the raw fuel supplying apparatus 1, and fuel cells 3 to generate electric power while using the hydrogen-containing reformed gas as power generation fuel supplied from the fuel reforming apparatus 2. A hydrogen separator 4 to separate non-reacted reformed gas discharged out of the fuel cells 3 to hydrogen gas and other gases is further installed. The separated hydrogen gas separated by the hydrogen separator 4 is turned back to the fuel cells 3 as the power generation fuel. Consequently, the utilization coefficient of hydrogen gas in the reformed gas for generating electric power is improved and hydrogen gas can be used without being wasted. |
