PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copying device capable of being operated by inputting a password and registering the password at the time of using the copying device, without previously registering the password. SOLUTION: In the control processing of a CPU 601 for controlling the copying device, when a selection signal for a department management mode is inputted though the key 45 of a control panel, the selection of an automatic number input mode (second mode) different from a normal mode (first mode) is permitted. When the automatic number input mode is selected and the password is inputted through the ten keys 42 of the control panel, the inputted password is registered to execute the copying. The validity term of the registered password is provided to effectively utilize the storage region of a password registering memory, so that only a department to be truly used can be registered. |
