The invention relates to a transparent or semi-transparent conductive layer system consisting of organic and inorganic electrically conductive materials. Said layer system comprises at least two layers, the first layer containing an organic or organometallic electrically conductive polymer which is transparent or semi-transparent in the visible range of the electromagnetic spectrum. The second layer contains at least one electrically conductive inorganic compound or a metal or a metalloid doped accordingly. The inventive layer system forms a multi-layer hybrid electrode for use as a cathode in electroluminescent systems.
