The optical fibre cable (OA1) has at least one plastics shrouding (AH1) containing at least one light-wave conductor (LW1). The plastics shrouding (AH1) has surface ridges (RB1-RB3). The plastics shrouding (AH1) is preferably polypropylene, polybutylene, styrene, polyamide or polyolefin. The cable is produced by extrusion round the conductor, with profiles to give the surface ridges.
