<p>A simple structure and method applicable to the assembling of a cylinder block and a crank case of an engine and the positioning of rear end surfaces of a cylinder block and a crank case without using a dowel that causes the assembling cost to increase, wherein positioning members (7) are provided on a rear end surface (6) of at least one of a cylinder block and a crank case (2), and a cylinder block and the crank case are combined with each other with a rear end surface (5) of the other engaged with the positioning members (7). This enables the two rear end surfaces (5, 6) to be joined to each other so that they become flush with each other owing to the positioning members (7), the use of dowels to be abolished or reduced, and the reduction of the assembling cost to be attained.</p> |
