The turbocharger (8) has a double-flow turbine (7). The exhaust manifolds (3,4) of the cylinders in each row (1,2) are connected to their own exhaust collection pipe (5,6), which are connected separately to the turbine. A connection valve (10) between the two collection pipes is closed in low RPM range and open in high RPM range. The connection valve is a bypass valve. During high-volume gas flows in the exhaust collection pipes, the valve connects the pipes to a bypass pipe (11) around the turbine. The valve is regulated dependant upon load pressure.
