In situ measurement of mitochondria

Process for the in situ measurement of mitochondrial metabolic products using energy transfer spectroscopy with two-wavelength excitation is claimed. The product is excited by light in the visible spectrum close to the ultraviolet or shortwave range. At the same time, a mitochondria marker is excited by a longer wavelength of the visible spectrum. The fluorescent signals from both excitations are separated, measured and related to each other.
