Hinge system for drop-down oven doors

The hinge has a frame (2) which is firmly attached to the oven door (20). The frame has a pin (3) which supports a lever (6) at one of its ends (6a), where the lever extends outside of the frame. The frame can hence be pivoted via the lever about the axis of the pin, where the pin also forms the pivotal axis for the oven door. Flexible devices are provided which oppose the pivotal movement of the oven door. The devices encompass an extension spring (10) which is connected between the frame and a middle section of the lever. The spring is connected to the lever via a tension element (12) formed from drawn steel which engages in an edge region of the lever in such a way so as to increase the closing force.
