PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power door opening and closing device for a double hinged door panel including the advancing operation and retreating operation, which is so constructed that the whole of a driving system is fitted to a carriage capable of advancing and retreating to and from a door opening of a vehicle. SOLUTION: An opening and closing device 2 for sliding an advance type door fitted to a movable carriage installed above the head of an opening 5 of a vehicle side wall includes a single electric motor for driving two spiral driving parts 20, and the respective spiral driving parts 20 are operated in such a manner that a door hanger 14 fitted to the respective door panels 9, 15 advances and retreat to and from the opening 5, and the carriage is moved to the outside of the side wall door opening. The used door hanger gives control deflection to the door panels 9, 15 when it is put in the completely open position. A driving link mechanism locks the door panels 9, 15 when it is put in the advance position. An opening and closing device guides the lower edge parts of the door panels 9, 15 during the advance/retreat operation. |
