PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the lifetime of abrasive material without generating brush damage by roughing by using a brush for constituting one brush hair by a plurality of air materials. SOLUTION: A plurality of hair materials 2 are regulated in number to become a desired diameter, aggregated, twisted to one brush hair 1. Many fine materials 2 are brought into contact with a surface of an aluminum plate, and fine abrasive grooves are densely formed on the surface of the plate so that even if a pressing force of the brush is enhanced, brush damage is scarcely generated. Abrasives used for mechanical roughing contain alumina, silica, silicon carbide and silacon nitride and have a particle size of 20 to 80μm. The abrasives are supplied as slurry liquid to the surface of the plate. The mechanical roughing is executed by rotating a roller-like brush at a high speed, urging it into contact with the surface of the plate, and supplying the slurry liquid to the brush.
