PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording medium having small scumming with excellent storage stability of a recording part. SOLUTION: In the thermal recording medium comprising a primary coating layer provided on a support, and a thermal recording layer containing leuco dye and colorant on the support or on the coating layer on the support, the recording layer contains as the colorant 4,4'-bis (p- tolylsulfonylaminocarbonylamino) diphenylmethaine, 1,1bis (4-hydroxypheny)-1- phenylethane or 1,4-bis [(4-hydroxyphenyl)isopropylidene]benzene, and the support or coating layer contains as pigment at least one type selected from carbonate, silicate and hydroxide of calcium or magnesium. |
