In a friction clutch (CL1), the sliding part (54) of a piston (50) for pressing a series of friction plates (40) is arranged radially outward inside a cylinder (10) having a large radial width (S), and a spacer (60) is fixed radially inward from the piston (50). In having a large radial width (S), the inner wall surface of the cylinder (10) that serves as a surface on which the piston (50) slides is easily machined, as is the outer circumferential surface of the spacer (60) that serves as a surface on which the piston (50) slides. In addition, the amount of oil for driving the piston (50) can be reduced in proportion to the amount by which the spacer (60) does not move, yielding high response characteristics. |
