<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily use an inexpensive steel scrap containing aluminum by efficiently removing the aluminum from molten cast iron. SOLUTION: The molten cast iron 2 is heated to the temp. or higher eliminating the surface film on the molten cast iron surface, in an electric furniace 1 and carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide or mixed gas thereof is blown into the molten cast iron from a gas blowing rod 4 dipped into the molten cast iron 2. Then, the aluminum contained in the molten cast iron is made into vapor and included into the inner part of the blown bubble and pulled up together with the bubble to the outer part. Therefore, the aluminum is removed from the molten cast iron, but the lowering of carbon content in the molten cast iron is not developed.</p> |
