The connection piece for one or more electrical wires (7) consists of a base (2) with a central section (9) and two upstanding side pieces (10a,10b). The ends of the upstanding side pieces lie close together in order to define a slot (6) into which the electrical wire is inserted. The upper sections of the upstanding side pieces are tapered in order to form a V-shaped channel guiding the wire into the slot. The inner edges of the channel are thin in order to form a self-stripping device which penetrates the insulation on the electrical wire. This forms the electrical connection as the wire is pushed into the slot. One or two wires may be inserted into the slot formed at each end of the connection piece, thus providing a secure connection for a number of separate wires (7).
