摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a bulky offensive odor substance such as trimethylamine to be adsorbed and removed effectively by allowing a transition element or a transition element compd. to be supported with mesoporous silica carriers having a number of pores of diameter values in a specified range and uniform diameters. SOLUTION: For pore diameters of mesoporous silica carriers, it is pref that pore diameters representing the max. peak in a pore diameter distribution curve range from l to 10 nm and more than about 60% of the diameters of the pores range within±about 40% of the pore diameters representing the max. peak in the pore diameter distribution curve. Further it is pref. that the mesoporous silica carriers have surface areas of more than about 250 m<2> /g. Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zu and the like are mentioned as the transition elements supported with the mesoporous silica carriers and Cu is esp. pref. Nitrates, sulfates, chlorides, oxides and the like of the above elements are mentioned as the transition element compd.</p>
