The mounting comprises a container (2) and a covering which is fixed to the vehicle. The container can be inserted in an opening (8) of the cover, and can be secured by means of projections (10,12) and ring crosspieces (16). The projections act as profiles, and the ring crosspieces act as counter-profiles. The covering may be the front strip of the dashboard. The container may be a vase with a circular cross-section, and which has a round base. The vase has profile projections (10,12) on its exterior, at the same height. The are preferably three projections which are displaced from each other by 120 degrees.
