The present invention relates to a process and device for treating textile substrates with supercritical fluid. The textile substrates take the form of spools of yarn or rolled webs and supercritical fluid flows over and/or through them substantially perpendicularly to their spool or winding axis. The treatment temperature during the treatment period assumes various values. During the treatment period, the treatment temperatures are set by at least two functions of the treatment time and supercritical fluid is conditioned differently at the time the cycle function takes effect.
