The heat pump system has an exterior source formed by an air heat exchanger (20) connected in series with a buried collector (18). The order of the two is not important. The buried collector has a number of loops supplied in parallel from a distributor (17), which delivers a supply of water containing glycol anti-freeze to the loops. The water is circulated by a pump (29). The air exchanger has a fan (29) to drive air through the heat exchanger. The fan is regulated by a thermostat (21) measuring outside air temperature or the difference between the temperature of the fluid and the temperature of the outside air. An inversion valve (28) reverses operation for summer and winter cooling and heating. |
