<p>A flexible elongate probe (20) having a longitudinal axis (22) and a distal end (28), the probe enclosing and defining a lumen (24) for receiving and riding over a guide wire (26), characterized in that the lumen is located other than along the longitudinal axis. Preferably, the lumen passes through the probe obliquely with respect to the longitudinal axis, adjacent to the distal end of the probe. Preferably, the probe includes a sensor (30) adjacent its distal end and a deflection mechanism (31) for deflecting the distal end of the probe after withdrawal of the guide wire.</p> |
