Liquid fabric softener concentrate contains (a) at least 1 wt.% of one or more cationic textile softening agents of formula (I), (II) or (III): in which each R<1> independently = 1-6C alkyl, alkenyl or hydroxyalkyl; each R<2> independently = 8-28C alkyl or alkenyl group; R<3> = R<1> or (CH2)n-T-R<2>; R<4> = R<1> or R<2> or (CH2)n-T-R<2>; T = -CH2-, -O-CO- or -CO-O- and n = a whole number 0-5, (b) 0.2-10 wt. % of a thickener selected from fatty substances and (c) 0.2-10 wt. % of a stabiliser selected from ether carboxylic acids, their salts or long chain amines containing at least one hydrocarbon residue with more than 12 C.
