The DC motor has a rotor (26) with several electromagnets held in a hub carrier (38) fixed to the rotor shaft. The permanent magnet pole surfaces each have a respective length covering several cores. The loop contact of the commutator extend in the circumferential direction such that they cover the contact surfaces. On each pair of loop contacts a further pair of contacts with reverse polarity are provided.
