<p>The method involves detecting the presence of paper (5) in a printer (3) connected to an electronic taxi meter (1) with a micro-processor (2) for giving the client a receipt at the end of a journey. The method is designed to detect at the start of each journey, the presence of paper (5) not only in the printer (3) but for a set length (X) of paper. This length is at least equal to that necessary to print a complete receipt (4) relative to a journey travelled by the taxi. The paper roll (6) is positioned at the distance (X) from the printer. The roller is driven by the paper (5) which is itself pulled by the printer (3). The roll has two side edges (9). An optical sensor (13) placed close to a edge (14) of the paper reel end (9) deduces the presence of the paper.</p> |
